Chief Burns encountered a future officer and a community supporter while at Walmart in Vicksburg, according to a post by the Vicksburg Police Department.
The department described community policing as involving both service and connections with residents. It said seeing people served by the department while out in the community was positive and said the encounter reflected Vicksburg’s sense of community.
