A ribbon-cutting ceremony for Hernando’s new wayfinding signs will be held at 11 a.m. next Tuesday, according to the Hernando Main Street Chamber of Commerce.
The project includes signs installed around town and was made possible through American Rescue Plan Act funds provided by the Mississippi Main Street Association through the Mississippi Legislature.
Jon Ross Myers founded Mississippi News Group in 2013. Before founding the organization, he worked at The Daily Mississippian, The Marion Salute and The Southern Sentinel. A Mississippi journalist and writer based in Ripley, he received second place in poetry in the 2025 William Faulkner Literary Competition for "The Garden."
