Destination Downtown 2026, described as the South’s premier regional downtown revitalization conference, is being hosted in Baton Rouge by Louisiana Main Street in partnership with the Mississippi, Arkansas and Alabama Main Street programs.
The event is identified as being on its second day. Louisiana Main Street is hosting the conference, which brings together the four state Main Street programs named in the announcement.
Jon Ross Myers founded Mississippi News Group in 2013. Before founding the organization, he worked at The Daily Mississippian, The Marion Salute and The Southern Sentinel. A Mississippi journalist and writer based in Ripley, he received second place in poetry in the 2025 William Faulkner Literary Competition for "The Garden."
