Registration is open for DeSoto Family Theatre’s 9th Annual Putt for the Arts Golf Tournament, presented by Higginbotham Insurance & Financial Services. The tournament is scheduled for Monday, October 26, at Cherokee Valley Golf Club.
The afternoon will include golf, great food, prizes and a silent auction while supporting the arts in the community. Participants can register at dftonline.org/puttforthearts.
Jon Ross Myers founded Mississippi News Group in 2013. Before founding the organization, he worked at The Daily Mississippian, The Marion Salute and The Southern Sentinel. A Mississippi journalist and writer based in Ripley, he received second place in poetry in the 2025 William Faulkner Literary Competition for "The Garden."
