Mississippi leaders tout state to corporate investors
Site Selection magazine in a Facebook post introduced an installment titled “INTRODUCTION: GROWTH DRIVERS” by Ron Starner, saying Gov. Tate Reeves and Mississippi Development Authority Executive Director Bill Cork “lay out a compelling case for why corporate investors ought to take a closer look at Mississippi.”
The post used phrases such as “Unprecedented Mississippi Momentum” and “record-breaking results” to describe the state’s recent economic push, but the social media preview did not include the full text of the letters referenced.
Site Selection is a national publication focused on corporate site selection and economic development, and the Mississippi Development Authority is the state’s lead economic development agency. Messages from state leaders in a publication with that audience seek to raise the state’s profile with investors who decide where to locate facilities and create jobs.
Attracting corporate investment can broaden the tax base and support job growth, officials and observers often say, which is why state economic development efforts commonly emphasize incentives, workforce strategies and infrastructure. The Facebook post indicates Mississippi is promoting those strengths to a national audience.
Details in the social media preview are limited. We will provide more information as it becomes available.
