Nearly 1300 students/teachers/staff members test positive in first week of reporting with over 4000 in quarantine

Nearly 1300 students/teachers/staff members test positive in first week of reporting, according to a report from the MSDH.

From the report:

Our first report on COVID-19 in schools for the 2021-2022 school year is now online, with 943 new COVID-19 cases in students, and 296 cases in teachers or staff for the week August 2 – 6. Note that this report only includes those schools which have reported data to us for the past week.

This report is updated weekly; find it on our website in the COVID-19 data reports section.

According to the report, over 4000 students are currently in quarantine.
