Jackson Man Held on $1M Bond in Homicide Case

JACKSON, Miss. – A Jackson man accused in the August 1 shooting death of Shawn Lennon is being held on a bond exceeding $1 million.

On Wednesday, August 20, 26-year-old William Gavyn Strong appeared before a municipal court judge and was issued:

  • $1 million bond for murder,
  • $15,000 bond for possession of a firearm by a convicted felon, and
  • $25,000 bond for possession of methamphetamines.

Police say Strong is the second suspect arrested in connection with Lennon’s killing. The investigation remains ongoing.
