Lake man charged in Cleveland child enticement, human trafficking case
CLEVELAND — A 30-year-old Lake man was arrested last week after a monthlong investigation and charged with enticement of a child to produce sexually explicit material and human trafficking, Cleveland police said.
Police identified the suspect as Bailey Jones. He faces one count of enticement of a child to depict sexually explicit material and one count of human trafficking, authorities said.
Investigators executed a search warrant at Jones’ home during the probe with assistance from multiple state and local agencies, police said. Those agencies included the Mississippi Bureau of Investigation Special Victims Unit; the Mississippi Attorney General’s Office; the Mississippi Department of Public Safety Crime Scene Unit; the Mississippi Highway Patrol; the Mississippi Department of Corrections K-9 Unit; and the Scott County Sheriff’s Department.
Jones was transported to Bolivar County and appeared before Cleveland Municipal Court Judge Warren Bell for his initial appearance. Bell set bond at $750,000 on each charge, and Jones is being held at the Bolivar County Jail, police said.
Cleveland Police Chief Dudley Tribble thanked investigators and the assisting agencies for their work. Authorities noted Jones is presumed innocent unless proven guilty in court. This is a developing story and will be updated as more details emerge.
