Toppers roll past Welch in 83-52 road win

Nashville, Tenn. — Blue Mountain Christian (BMCU) women’s basketball rolled to an 83-52 road victory over Welch on Tuesday, controlling the tempo from the opening tip and steadily building a commanding lead.

The Toppers established an early offensive rhythm and applied consistent defensive pressure, forcing turnovers and converting in transition. BMCU extended its lead quarter by quarter and maintained control through the final buzzer.

McKenzie Williams led BMCU with a double-double, finishing with 18 points and 11 rebounds. Kathryn Echols added 15 points and six rebounds, while Maddie Kirk contributed 14 points, six rebounds and five steals. Rebecca Walter also scored 14 points and grabbed five rebounds.

The victory showcased BMCU’s depth and balanced attack, with multiple players providing scoring and defensive energy across all four quarters. The Toppers said the win builds momentum as the season progresses and highlights their defensive intensity and consistent offensive production.

BMCU travels to the University of Tennessee Southern on Feb. 14 for its next game. We will provide more information as it becomes available.
