Toppers fall short at Loyola
NEW ORLEANS — Blue Mountain Christian University fell 72-65 to Loyola on Thursday night in a Southern States Athletic Conference game, the school said.
The Toppers matched Loyola’s intensity from the opening tip and kept the game within reach through four quarters, responding to early pressure and trading momentum in a physical contest.
Blue Mountain Christian credited McKenzie Williams with pacing the offense and contributing on the boards, Kathryn Echols with steady production in the backcourt, Maddie Kirk with an all-around impact on both ends, and Isabella Carlson with directing the offense and creating quality looks against a disciplined Loyola defense.
The Toppers will play their final regular-season game at William Carey on Saturday, Feb. 21. The Southern States Athletic Conference is made up of colleges in the southeastern United States. We will provide more information as it becomes available.
