Life defeats Blue Mountain Christian 89-63 in SSAC game
Life University defeated Blue Mountain Christian 89-63 on Thursday at Tyler Gymnasium in Blue Mountain, Mississippi, Blue Mountain Christian said.
Both teams played with intensity early, exchanging baskets and defensive stops before Life gradually opened a lead with consistent scoring through the game, the release said. The Toppers executed intelligently on offense in the opening minutes and attacked the rim, but Life maintained control as the contest progressed.
Gavin Shannon led Blue Mountain Christian with a team-high 21 points while adding two steals and providing steady leadership on both ends of the floor, the school said. Jonathan Baker scored 15 points, knocking down three 3-pointers and supplying energy throughout the night. Michael Hill added 12 points and Esrael Yant finished with 10 points and four rebounds.
Blue Mountain Christian will travel to Tuscaloosa to face Stillman College on Tuesday night, the release said. The Southern States Athletic Conference (SSAC) features Division II and NAIA programs in the southeastern United States. We will provide more information as it becomes available.
