Blue Mountain Christian shuts out Millsaps to open 2026
NEW ALBANY, Miss. — Blue Mountain Christian University defeated Millsaps 7-0 on Saturday, shutting out the NCAA Division III Majors to open the 2026 season, the BMCU athletics department reported.
The Toppers secured the doubles point with three straight victories. Adriaan Engelbrecht and Kevin Kotzé won Court 1, 6-1; Pablo Cruz and Luis Lainer took Court 2, 6-4; and Caleb Rogers and Craig Blevins won Court 3, 6-2.
Blue Mountain Christian carried the momentum into singles. Engelbrecht won Court 1, 6-2, 6-4; Kotzé prevailed on Court 2, 6-3, 7-5; and Cruz won Court 3, 7-5, 6-2. Lainer won Court 4, 6-0, 6-1; Shriraam Anbanantan won Court 5, 6-1, 6-2; and Maj Langerholz closed out Court 6, 4-6, 6-1, 10-6.
BMCU improved to 1-0 and returns to action Tuesday, Feb. 10, at 1 p.m. against Rust College in Holly Springs, Miss. Millsaps is a member of NCAA Division III. We will provide more information as it becomes available.
