Reeves visits Mississippi National Guard armory in Iuka

Gov. Tate Reeves posted on Facebook that he visited the Mississippi National Guard Armory in Iuka, noting that the facility is a staging point for resources that are deployed throughout Tishomingo County. In the post, Reeves thanked the state’s soldiers for their service.

“Our next stop was the Mississippi National Guard Armory in Iuka. From here, resources are deployed throughout Tishomingo County. Thank you to Mississippi’s Soldiers for once again rising to the occasion and exceeding expectations. We are grateful for your service!” Reeves wrote.

The Mississippi National Guard maintains armories across the state that serve as bases for training, logistics and responses to emergencies or state operations. Such facilities often act as coordination hubs when military personnel support local authorities or community needs.

As governor, Reeves serves as commander in chief of the state’s National Guard when units are not federalized, and visits to armories underscore the state government’s role in overseeing readiness and resource deployment. We will provide more information as it becomes available.
