Reeves says conservative governance works in education, economy, energy

Gov. Tate Reeves says Mississippi is “proving once again that conservative (with a touch of common sense) governance works” in education, the economy and energy policy, according to a post on his Facebook page that included accompanying photos.

Reeves, a Republican and the state’s chief executive, used the social media post to highlight those three areas without providing additional specifics on programs or metrics in the post.

Education, economic performance and energy policy are central responsibilities of state government and frequent topics in public debate over taxes, spending and regulation. Statements from governors on those subjects are often intended to shape public perception of state priorities and to influence policy discussions among lawmakers, business leaders and voters.

The Facebook post is the latest public message from Reeves’s office on policy themes. We will provide more information as it becomes available.
