Facebook post defends Mississippi as hub for supercomputers, criticizes left

An author on Facebook defended placing advanced industrial projects in Mississippi and urged Americans to embrace technological expansion, saying the impulse to block such projects amounts to “civilizational suicide,” the post said.

The post said Mississippi “has become the home of the world’s most impressive supercomputers” and argued the state should wield that technology to bring “prosperity and authority.” “We are committed to America and American power,” the post said.

The author criticized what they called the “far left,” saying that opposition to projects can be found across issues such as immigration, crime fighting and the national debt. The post framed that opposition as a desire to cede control to “mobs, international councils, or communist China,” and said, “I don’t want to go gently. I love this country, and want her to rise.”

Supercomputers and large technology facilities can bring university partnerships, research investment and jobs to host communities, but they also often prompt local debate over land use, environmental impact and infrastructure. The Facebook post did not identify which projects or companies it was referencing.

This is a developing story and will be updated as more details emerge.
