Sheriff’s deputies arrest man for cocaine possession in Lee County

SHANNON, Miss. — Deputies stopped a vehicle in the Shannon area of Lee County on December 26, 2025, according to Sheriff Jim H. Johnson.

The driver, Michael Gammel, 50, of Shannon, was found to be in possession of cocaine, a Schedule II controlled substance, during the traffic stop.

Gammel was arrested on charges of possession of a Schedule II drug. A Lee County Justice Court judge set his bond at $2,500.
