The impacted counties are Adams, Alcorn, Attala, Benton, Bolivar, Calhoun, Carroll, Chickasaw, Choctaw, Claiborne, Clarke, Clay, Coahoma, DeSoto, Grenada, Hinds, Holmes, Humphreys, Itawamba, Jefferson, Lafayette, Leake, Leflore, Lowndes, Marshall, Monroe, Montgomery, Newton, Oktibbeha, Panola, Pontotoc, Prentiss, Quitman, Rankin, Smith, Sharkey, Sunflower, Tallahatchie, Tate, Tippah, Tishomingo, Tunica, Union, Warren, Washington, Webster, Wilkinson, Yalobusha and Yazoo.

Ad valorem taxes are assessed according to the value of property and are collected at the county level; the Facebook post said the proclamation delays fines for missed submissions in the listed counties. The announcement did not include additional details about the reasons for the extension or how county offices will implement it. We will provide more information as it becomes available.
