Police seek Norvel Williams III for noncompliance with sex offender registration
The Pearl River County Sheriff’s Office is actively searching for Norvel Thomas Williams III after a warrant was issued for failing to comply with sex offender registration requirements, Crime Stoppers said. The warrant has been active since Aug. 15, 2024.
Williams was previously convicted of sexual battery, and Crime Stoppers’ post states the victim was 24 months older. Prior postings by Crime Stoppers did not generate tips leading to his arrest, the post said.
Investigators believe Williams may be in the Pearl River, Louisiana, area or in Angie, Louisiana. Authorities asked residents in those communities and surrounding areas to report any information about his whereabouts.
Crime Stoppers said tips can be submitted anonymously through the P3 Tips app or by calling TIPS. The organization said callers can remain anonymous and may be eligible for a reward if the information is provided through Crime Stoppers’ channels.
Sex offender registration laws require convicted offenders to register with local authorities, and failure to do so can lead to arrest and additional charges. This is a developing story and will be updated as more details emerge.
