Pike County Sheriff’s Office Seeks Help for Abandoned Dogs and Puppies
The Pike County Sheriff’s Office is asking the public for assistance after rescuing a mother dog and seven puppies from a neglect case, the department said Friday.
The animals are approximately three weeks old. The suspect involved in the case is in custody, authorities said.
Officials are seeking help with adoption, foster care, rescue placement, or other support to ensure the animals receive proper care and loving homes. They ask anyone who can assist or knows organizations that can help to contact the Pike County Sheriff’s Office at (601) 783-6767.
Sheriff Wally Jones and his office emphasized that public support can make a difference for animals that cannot speak for themselves.
Support and compassion from the community are appreciated, the department said.
