Mississippi completes Terminal Agency Coordinator class
A recent Terminal Agency Coordinator class concluded in Mississippi, bringing together representatives from state and local public safety agencies to receive training on maintaining secure access to criminal justice information systems.
Terminal Agency Coordinators, or TACs, play a critical role in ensuring compliance, security and proper access to CJIS and NCIC systems, which are used to share criminal history and investigative information among law enforcement agencies. CJIS (Criminal Justice Information Services) and the NCIC (National Crime Information Center) are managed at the federal level and provide databases that support investigations and officer safety.
Participants in the class included representatives from the Mississippi Department of Corrections, Newton County E911, Neshoba County E911, the Starkville Police Department and the Mound Bayou Police Department. E911 centers coordinate emergency dispatch and communications, and trained TACs help ensure those systems interface securely with statewide and national law enforcement databases.
Organizers congratulated the participants and thanked them for their dedication to enhancing public safety throughout Mississippi. We will provide more information as it becomes available.
