Biloxi Allows Fireworks on New Year’s Eve Under Safety Guidelines
Biloxi permits fireworks on New Year’s Eve from 6 p.m. December 31 to 1 p.m. January 1, despite typical bans within city limits, the Biloxi Fire Department announced Thursday.
The city generally restricts fireworks to specific dates, including July 4 and the first three days of Tet, when a special permit is obtained for the Dragon Dance. Fireworks are only allowed on these days with a permit from the fire department.
The fire department urged residents to prioritize safety during celebrations, advising that fireworks be used outdoors, kept away from children unless supervised, and never ignited near buildings or wooded areas.
