Winter weather update from MEMA
One additional weather-related death has been reported to the Mississippi Emergency Management Agency. It happened in Marshall County. This brings the state’s total death toll to 12 since Jan. 14 due to winter weather.
Additional deaths have been reported in Chickasaw, Humphreys, Leflore, Panola, Rankin, Sharkey, Sunflower, and Washington counties.
An additional weather-related death has been reported to the Mississippi Emergency Management Agency (MEMA). It happened on Highway 51 in Panola County. The Mississippi Highway Patrol is investigating. This brings the state’s total death toll to 11 since Jan. 14 due to winter weather.
The victim was later identified as a man from Como, according to The Panolian.
MEMA reported a separate death in Panola County in an earlier update. The fatality mentioned here is separate from that, making two weather-related deaths in Panola County.
