Two Arrested for Felony Shoplifting at Magee Walmart, Face Additional Charges

Two individuals were arrested on August 4 following a felony shoplifting incident at the Magee Walmart involving merchandise valued at over $1,000.

Magee Police officers took Jovontae Badon and Lovie Russell into custody after responding to the reported theft. During the investigation, authorities discovered that Russell had an outstanding felony shoplifting warrant in Jones County, confirmed through a national database. She also had active felony warrants in Covington County for similar crimes.

Several stolen items, valued in the thousands, were recovered.

Both suspects were booked at the Magee Police Department and placed on Attorney Contact Only (ACO) status while awaiting formal charges. In addition to shoplifting, Badon faces charges of leaving the scene of an accident, no proof of insurance, and operating a vehicle with improper equipment.
