Purvis Man Arrested on Child Exploitation Charges
PURVIS, Miss. – A Purvis man has been arrested on multiple charges of child exploitation following an investigation by the Lamar County Sheriff’s Department and the Internet Crimes Against Children Task Force.
Authorities said Patrick Herrin, 45, was taken into custody on August 27. He faces two counts of child exploitation and one count of possession of a weapon by a felon.
Sheriff Danny Rigel reported that deputies discovered child pornography on Herrin’s computer while executing a search warrant. Rigel noted that investigators do not believe any of the children in the material are local.
Herrin’s bond was set at $500,000 for each child exploitation charge and $5,000 for the weapons charge, for a total bond of $1,005,000.
