Point Eight Power, Inc. opening operations in Hancock County
Point Eight Power, Inc. will create at least 78 direct jobs
Point Eight Power, Inc., manufacturer of power distribution systems, is set to open a new manufacturing plant in Hancock County. With a corporate investment of almost $7.75 million, this project is expected to generate 78 direct jobs.
The decision to establish the manufacturing plant in Mississippi was driven by Point Eight Power’s recognition of the local workforce talent and the favorable site location.
“We are excited to welcome Point Eight Power to Hancock County, and we’re confident they’ll find countless opportunities for growth and continued success on our Gulf Coast,” said Gov. Tate Reeves. “The decision to establish a manufacturing plant here in Mississippi is a testament to the remarkable talent of our local workforce and our tremendous business environment.”
The Mississippi Development Authority is providing assistance for building improvements. MDA also is providing assistance through the Mississippi Flexible Tax Incentive, or MFLEX. Hancock County is assisting with the project, as well.
“Point Eight Power is not only investing in its own success but also in the economic development of our state,” said MDA Deputy Executive Director Laura Hipp. “The 78 jobs being created by the company will return dividends throughout the Gulf Coast Region for generations to come, as these new employees will spend in their communities and generate an even stronger tax base for Hancock County.
Point Eight Power has scheduled upcoming job fairs for those interested in applying for a job at the company’s new plant. The first job fair to recruit employees for the Mississippi facility will be held Monday, July 31, from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. at the Pearl River Community College Waveland Campus, located at 454 US-90, Ste. B, Waveland, Mississippi, 39576.
