Pay Raise for Mississippi Teachers Sent to Governor’s Office

Another raise is coming for teachers throughout the State of Mississippi.

On Thursday, House Bill 852 was passed through after discussions and negotiations continue to be passed from chamber to chamber of the Mississippi legislature.

If the bill passes, it will be highlighted with a $1,000 raise to current teachers while also raising the starting salary for Mississippi teachers to $37,000. Along with it, teacher’s assistant salary will be raised to $15,000.

Legislature is also being debated over a possible incentive program for Mississippi teachers.
