Over 4,000 Students and Teachers Quarantined Across Mississippi
State Health Official Dr. Thomas Dobbs announced in a news conference that 31 schools in Mississippi had enough cases to constitute an “outbreak” of COVID-19.
During the week of August 17-21, 142 teachers and 292 students tested positive for the novel coronavirus according to Dobbs.
Due to the positive cases, 584 teachers and 3,913 students have been required to quarantine from in-person intstruction.
This news comes alongside the highest daily number of deaths from COVID-19 being reported so far at 67 on Tuesday.
