Officer-involved shooting in Ridgeland

The Mississippi Bureau of Investigation (MBI) is investigating an officer-involved shooting involving the Ridgeland Police Department that occurred on May 4.

Officers with the Ridgeland Police Department were responding to a call for service near Williams Boulevard in Ridgeland. Upon arrival, the subject discharged a weapon at the officers. The officers discharged their weapons striking the subject.

The subject was transported to a local hospital. The officers involved received no serious physical injuries.

MBI is currently assessing this critical incident and gathering evidence. Upon completing the investigation, agents will share their findings with the Attorney General’s Office.
