Officer-involved shooting in Flowood

The Mississippi Bureau of Investigation (MBI) is investigating an officer-involved shooting involving the Flowood Police Department that occurred on June 4.

Officers with the Flowood Police Department received a call regarding a subject who was attempting to break into apartments near Park Circle Drive. Upon arrival, the subject presented a weapon to the officers, and the officers discharged their weapons fatally striking the subject. The involved officers did not receive any serious physical injury. This information is preliminary and subject to change.

MBI is currently assessing this critical incident and gathering evidence. Upon completing the investigation, agents will share their findings with the Attorney General’s Office.
