Industrial manufacturing company Laurel Machine & Foundry is expanding its manufacturing services in Jones County to meet the growing demand for its services in Mississippi. The project is a $3,140,500 corporate investment and will create at least seven jobs.
“Industrial manufacturing is at the core of Mississippi’s economy,” said Gov. Tate Reeves. “When companies like Laurel Machine & Foundry expand in Mississippi, they show the world that we have the tools and the workforce to drive growth in this important sector.”
Laurel Machine & Foundry offers a variety of industrial and manufacturing services, including computer numerical control and manual machining, plate and structural fabrication, metal processing and iron casting. The expansion includes the construction of a 20,000-square-foot machining facility and a 7,500-square-foot warehouse, as well as the purchase and installation of new equipment.
“MDA is proud to support Laurel Machine & Foundry as this valued Mississippi company grows in Jones County,” said MDA Executive Director Bill Cork. “For 120 years, LMF has been central to the Laurel community and Mississippi’s manufacturing sector.”
Established in Jones County in 1904, Laurel Machine & Foundry is one of the oldest manufacturing companies in Mississippi. The company expects to complete the expansion within one year and plans to fill the new jobs within three years.
