Columbus Tightening Up on Enforcing Mask Mandate
The City of Columbus is cracking down on making sure residents and businesses are closely abiding by the mask mandate ongoing in the city.
Monday began a new requirement of two on-duty police officers checking in on businesses to make sure masks are being properly worn at the change of each shift.
“It’s important mainly to keep this COVID sickness from spreading to others. It helps prevent that,” said Officer Cody Smith, Columbus P.D. “That’s the biggest measure in preventing the spread of the COVID.”
The governor’s “Safe Recovery” executive order is set to expire on Dec. 11, but it will most likely be extended yet again.
