Collierville Man Sentenced in 2022 Oxford DUI Crash That Killed Walker Fielder

Oxford, Miss. – On Monday, August 25, 2025, Seth Garron Rokitka, 30, of Collierville, Tennessee, entered a plea agreement with the Third Circuit District Attorney’s Office in connection with the death of Walker Fielder. The fatal incident occurred in the early morning hours of October 16, 2022, in downtown Oxford.

As part of the agreement, Rokitka pled guilty to Leaving the Scene of an Accident Causing Death and Aggravated DUI. He was sentenced to 10 years to serve for leaving the scene, along with an additional 5 years for aggravated DUI. The sentences will run consecutively, but the five-year aggravated DUI sentence will be suspended once Rokitka completes his 10-year term.

About the Case

On October 16, 2022, the Oxford Police Department received a 911 call reporting two injured individuals in the parking lot behind City Hall. Both victims, Walker Fielder and a female companion, were transported to the hospital. Tragically, Fielder later died from his injuries.

Investigators with OPD quickly gathered video evidence linking Rokitka to the crash. Images were released on social media asking for the public’s assistance, and within hours, numerous tips identifying Rokitka came in from across the Mid-South. He turned himself in to authorities on October 17, 2022.

Statement from Oxford Police

“Yesterday’s outcome brings a measure of closure to a long and difficult case. While no sentence can ever fully heal the loss suffered by Walker’s family and friends, we hope this resolution allows them to take another step forward in their journey of healing,” Oxford Police said in a statement. “On behalf of the Oxford Police Department, we remain deeply grateful for the strength and grace shown by the Fielder family and for the community members who stepped forward to help us bring this case to a resolution.”
