Child Pornography Possession Suspect Opens Fire on Olive Branch Police Officers
A Mississippi resident who has recently moved to Olive Branch from out of state has been killed in an exchange of gunfire with Olive Branch Police Department.
On Monday, September 16, 2024, at approximately 9:27 a.m., Olive Branch Police officers were making an attempt to serve a search warrant to a resident from the area of 9142 Railroad Avenue. The search warrant was in relation to two counts of possession of child pornography.
According to a press release from Olive Branch Police Department, while the officers attempted to serve the warrant, the suspect opened fire on the officers. The officers returned fire, but were not injured. The suspect is deceased as a result of the exchange.
The investigation has been turned over to the Mississippi Bureau of Investigation and is ongoing. More information will be released as it is made available.
