Attorney General Lynn Fitch today announced the completion of a four-day human trafficking training in Tunica for 78 law enforcement officers from across the state. The training included a human trafficking operation where 12 victims were rescued and four arrests were made.
“This is our largest training to date,” said Fitch. “Law enforcement officers from around the State want to be a part of the solution to end human trafficking in Mississippi. Their training here resulted in the rescue of 12 victims, and this is just the beginning of the impact they will make in our fight to end this heinous crime and restore victims’ dignity and hope.”
In the past two years, Fitch’s office has trained 426 state and local law enforcement officers from across the state. The Attorney General’s human trafficking team has led multi-jurisdictional operations that have led to the rescue of 287 victims and resulted in countless leads in the the effort to disrupt and stop trafficking operations in Mississippi.
