Committee to Protect Health Care endorses Pinkins for Senate
Sept. 20, 2024 – Democratic candidate for U.S. Senate Ty Pinkins has received backing from The Committee to Protect Health Care, a nationwide coalition of over 20,000 physicians and healthcare advocates dedicated to enhancing healthcare access, reducing patient costs, and safeguarding reproductive rights. A strong proponent of Medicaid expansion, women’s reproductive freedoms, and quality affordable healthcare for all residents of Mississippi, Pinkins has centered his campaign around these vital issues, among others.
Pinkins is challenging incumbent U.S. Sen. Roger Wicker (R) in the November general election.
“Our organizational priorities include but are not limited to defending and improving the Affordable Care Act and Medicaid, protecting Medicare to ensure seniors may enjoy the benefits promised to them, defending reproductive freedom, and lowering patients’ health care costs,” the organization stated in an official letter.
“Ty Pinkins’s commitment to addressing these important healthcare issues is why The Committee to Protect Health Care is proud to offer him our endorsement and designation as a Care for U.S. Candidate.” the statement continued.
Pinkins has consistently championed women’s rights to make personal healthcare choices, free from government interference. A key focus of his campaign has been to guarantee that all Mississippians, regardless of their income level, have access to the healthcare resources necessary for a happy and healthy life. Additionally, Pinkins has integrated an advocacy run into his campaign to highlight the challenges many Mississippians face as it relates to their healthcare needs.
“Mississippians are counting on leaders who will uphold their right to make personal healthcare choices. We must persist in advocating for these important issues. I am honored to receive the endorsement of The Committee to Protect Health Care, as their mission genuinely reflects the values we have championed during our campaign,” stated Pinkins.
