Woman charged after shooting into occupied Claiborne County home

Claiborne County deputies charged a woman after responding March 15 to reports of shots fired into an occupied home on Woodvine Road, the Claiborne County Sheriff’s Department said.

Upon arrival, occupants told deputies that TNeesha Edwards had discharged a firearm into the residence, officials said. After an investigation, Edwards was charged with shooting into a dwelling. Officials said she made an initial appearance in court, where Judge Odom set bond at $20,000.

The Claiborne County Sheriff’s Department, which investigates crimes and enforces laws in the rural county, did not release further details about any injuries or a possible motive. Shooting into a dwelling is a criminal charge that involves firing a weapon into an occupied structure and is treated seriously because of the risk to public safety.

The case will proceed through the local court system as investigators continue their work. We will provide more information as it becomes available.
