Woman charged after domestic stabbing in Lamar County
LAMAR COUNTY — A 48-year-old woman was charged with aggravated assault after deputies said a man was stabbed during a domestic dispute Monday night at an apartment on Shears Road.
Lamar County deputies responded about 9 p.m. Feb. 16, 2026, after a reported stabbing, authorities said. Investigators identified the woman as Demetra Holloway, 48, and said a 38-year-old man suffered a stab wound to the abdomen.
The victim was taken by ambulance to a local hospital and underwent surgery, deputies said. Hollway also suffered a cut to her hand during the incident and was treated at a hospital, authorities said. After her release, deputies transported Holloway to the Lamar County Jail, where she was charged with aggravated assault/domestic violence. Bond was set at $25,000.
Authorities described the case as a domestic violence matter. Aggravated assault charges typically allege serious bodily injury or use of a weapon and are treated as felonies in most jurisdictions. This is a developing story and will be updated as more details emerge.
