Wiggins police seek public help after businesses vandalized
Wiggins police are investigating multiple local businesses that were vandalized with spray paint late Friday and are asking the public for help identifying those responsible, Staff Sergeant Jarred Havard said in a Facebook post.
The department asked anyone with information, surveillance footage or who witnessed suspicious activity to contact investigators at 601-928-5444. The post also directed people who prefer to remain anonymous to submit tips through Crime Stoppers using information provided in the department’s social media post.
Vandalism of commercial properties can disrupt business operations, impose repair costs and heighten safety concerns for employees and customers, law enforcement officials say generally. Police often rely on community tips and video footage to identify suspects and establish timelines in such cases.
The Wiggins Police Department, the local law enforcement agency responsible for policing the community, said it appreciates resident assistance as it works to keep the area safe. We will provide more information as it becomes available.
