Walmart donates supplies to Oxford community
Walmart is donating canned goods and household supplies to the Oxford community with a drive-through pickup set for Feb. 1 at the old Hayakawa Warehouse, 10 Industrial Park Dr., while supplies last, a Facebook post announcing the donation said.
The post said available items may include bottled water, cereal, crackers, canned vegetables and soups, toilet paper, paper towels and bleach. Cars will be directed through the parking lot and a volunteer will load supplies into each vehicle. All vehicles will receive the same items while supplies last, the post said.
Walmart is a national retail chain that has organized and supported community assistance programs in many locations. Drive-through distributions have been used by retailers and relief organizations to provide essential goods while limiting contact and maintaining traffic flow.
The donation aims to help residents access basic household and food items. Organizers did not provide additional details about quantities or eligibility in the post. We will provide more information as it becomes available.
