Vicksburg police visit rehabilitation center, play bingo with residents
Vicksburg Police Department said in a Facebook post Tuesday evening that participants in its U-Turn Program visited The Bluff Rehabilitation to spend time with residents and play bingo.
The post described the event as “more than just a game night,” saying it brought “laughter, connection, and bridging generations.” The department included photos and the hashtags #UTurn, #CommunityConnections and #BridgingGenerations.
The Vicksburg Police Department is the municipal law enforcement agency serving the community. Community outreach programs such as U-Turn generally aim to foster positive interactions between law enforcement and residents and to provide constructive opportunities for program participants.
Visits to rehabilitation and long-term care facilities can offer social engagement that helps reduce isolation for residents and build trust between citizens and police. The post did not include additional details about the U-Turn Program or the number of participants. We will provide more information as it becomes available.
