Utility reduces customer outages to under 350 in Oxford
A utility said in a Facebook post late last night that it has reduced the total customer outages to under 350, and crews are working across Oxford to reconnect service.
The post said crews are spread out across Oxford today addressing service reconnections, taps, apartments and other issues. The utility said it is working to safely and quickly restore service to all customers that can take power.
Customer outages typically result from storms, equipment failure or other disruptions, and utilities prioritize restoring service to critical facilities and the largest numbers of customers first. Field crews often perform reconnections at service taps, check apartment common systems and isolate remaining problems before full restoration.
The reduction to fewer than 350 affected customers indicates progress in the restoration effort, but the utility did not provide a timeline for full service restoration in the post. We will provide more information as it becomes available.
