Southaven police discuss investigator duties
Southaven police said in a Facebook post that members of the department’s Investigative Services Unit met last night to review the duties of investigators.
Captain Brown, Lieutenant Roby and Sergeant Arendale led the discussion, the department said. Topics included different types of crimes, how detectives work crime scenes and how crime statistics inform investigative work, according to the post.
The Southaven Police Department serves the city of Southaven and operates investigative teams that handle follow-up to reports, evidence collection and coordination with prosecutors, defense attorneys and other agencies. Training and internal briefings help maintain investigative standards and public trust, said the post.
The department also thanked Lenny’s Southaven for providing dinner for the session. Community partnerships and informal support from local businesses often bolster morale and community engagement for law enforcement agencies.
Details in the Facebook post were limited. We will provide more information as it becomes available.
