Scott County Sheriff’s Office extends condolences to Jackson County after deputy’s death
Scott County Sheriff’s Office extended its deepest condolences to the Jackson County Sheriff’s Office in a post on the office’s Facebook page following the loss of a deputy. The post said the death is “not only a loss to your agency, but to the entire law enforcement community.”
“We honor the life, service, and sacrifice of your fallen deputy, who served with courage, dedication, and commitment to protecting others,” the message said. It added, “Their legacy will not be forgotten. Please know that you are in our thoughts and prayers.”
The statement was signed by Sheriff Mike Lee, Chief Deputy Brad Ellis and Public Information Officer Joshua Thames. The post said the Scott County agency stands with Jackson County “in mourning and in support, today and in the days ahead.”
Law enforcement agencies often issue public condolences after the death of a colleague to acknowledge the risk of the job and to show interagency solidarity. We will provide more information as it becomes available.
