Pike County Sheriff’s Office warns public about scams
Pike County Sheriff’s Office warned residents about ongoing scam activity, the agency’s Public Relations Department said in a public information post. The brief notice was distributed to raise awareness and encourage vigilance among community members.
The sheriff’s office, which serves as the primary law enforcement agency for the county, said the post was issued by its Public Relations Department and included the department motto, #ServiceBeforeSelf. The office handles patrol, investigations and public safety programs across the county.
Scam alerts from local law enforcement typically aim to prevent financial loss and identity theft by reminding residents not to share personal or financial information with unsolicited callers or online contacts and to verify requests through official channels. Such warnings often target seniors and other vulnerable groups who are frequently approached by scammers.
The Pike County Sheriff’s Office did not provide additional details in the notice. We will provide more information as it becomes available.
