Pike County sheriff continues roadside litter campaign

Pike County Sheriff Bryant “Wally” Jones continued a countywide litter campaign in 2026, removing trash along state highways and county roads, the Pike County Sheriff’s Office said. The office identified one location of work as 98 Highway East and said the effort reflects its commitment to keeping Pike County clean, safe and attractive.

The sheriff’s office thanked the Mississippi Department of Transportation and Commissioner Charles Busby for donating a cleanup truck to support the effort. The post also acknowledged the contribution of other donors who provided equipment and resources for the campaign.

Correctional Officer Kim Wallace and inmates led the cleanup operation, the office said. Additional thanks went to the McComb Rotary Club and Victor’s Tint & Graphics for providing decals for the vehicle.

Pike County is in southwestern Mississippi and county-led litter removal programs are commonly used to improve roadway safety and community appearance. The information was provided by the Pike County Sheriff’s Office Public Relations Department. We will provide more information as it becomes available.
