Oxford Police Department launches Camp COPS 2026

Oxford Police Department said on its Facebook page that it will host Camp COPS 2026, a pair of weeklong day camps designed to help children learn, connect and build positive relationships with officers. Sessions are scheduled June 8-12 for rising third- and fourth-graders and June 15-19 for rising fifth- and sixth-graders.

Daily drop-off is 7 a.m. to 8 a.m., and pick-up is 12 p.m. to 1 p.m., the department said. The fee is $5, payable on the first day of camp, and space is limited to 20 campers per group; families are encouraged to register early.

The department said the program aims to boost confidence, teach basic safety principles and provide a memorable experience with friends and mentors in the community. Community policing and youth outreach programs like Camp COPS are commonly used by law enforcement agencies to foster trust and reduce barriers between officers and residents.
