A Facebook Reel posted online says law enforcement motor units and community members gathered in Atlanta to show support for “one of our own,” identified only as Colby. The post thanked the Atlanta Police Department motors unit, the Georgia State Patrol motors and other motor units that were in town for training for taking time to attend and show their support.
Motor units — police motorcycle teams that provide traffic enforcement, escorts and public safety at large events — often conduct joint training that brings personnel from multiple agencies together. Such training sessions also provide opportunities for agencies to express solidarity and coordinate response tactics.
The Facebook post also thanked people in Starkville and beyond who bought tickets, made donations or kept Colby in their thoughts and prayers. Winners named in the post included Cade Jenkins, Chain Owens, David Huffman, Cliff Wall, Amanda Huffman and Hunter Brown.
