Mississippi academy prepares for Cadet Class 70

The Mississippi Law Enforcement Officers’ Training Academy and the Mississippi Highway Patrol said in a Facebook Reel that the academy will welcome Cadet Class 70 in three days.

The brief social media post — which read, “THREE. MORE. SLEEPS. Cadet Class #70, we’re ready for you.” — signaled the start of a new training cycle for recruits from agencies across the state.

The academy provides basic law enforcement training and certification for officers serving municipalities, counties and state agencies in Mississippi. Training academies typically cover physical conditioning, legal instruction, defensive tactics and practical exercises designed to prepare recruits for patrol and investigative duties.

The arrival of a new cadet class is significant because it replenishes the pipeline of trained officers available to serve communities. Officials did not provide additional details about the class size or schedule in the post. We will provide more information as it becomes available.
