MDPS leaders brief Madison Ridgeland Rotary Club on public safety

Commissioner Sean Tindell and Capitol Police Chief Bo Luckey spent the afternoon with the Madison Ridgeland Rotary Club to discuss public safety efforts and the work being done across the Mississippi Department of Public Safety and Capitol Police, the department said in a Facebook post.

The Mississippi Department of Public Safety oversees a range of state public safety functions, including highway safety, driver services and coordination with law enforcement agencies, while the Capitol Police provide security for the state Capitol complex and related facilities.

The meeting with the Rotary Club, a local chapter of Rotary International, represents a routine point of contact between state public safety leaders and community organizations. Such briefings allow officials to explain programs, hear local concerns and build partnerships that can aid emergency response, traffic safety and crime prevention.

Details about topics discussed and any follow-up actions were not included in the post. We will provide more information as it becomes available.
