MBI issues Silver Alert for missing Covington County man
The Mississippi Bureau of Investigation issued a Silver Alert Thursday for a Covington County man believed to be at risk.
MBI identified the man as 31-year-old Cornelius Elijah Allen of Collins, saying he was last seen about 2:39 a.m. Wednesday, Feb. 25, in the 200 block of Monroe Road in Covington County. Investigators said he was driving in an unknown direction and may be in a 2017 black Volkswagen Tiguan with Mississippi tag 910 CVB.
MBI described Allen as 5 feet 9 inches tall and about 170 pounds, with black hair and brown eyes. He was last seen wearing blue jeans, a blue shirt and a black hoodie, authorities said.
Family members told authorities Allen suffers from a medical condition that may impair his judgment. Anyone who sees Allen or has information about his whereabouts is asked to contact the Covington County Sheriff’s Office at 601-765-8281 or call 911. Silver Alert programs notify the public about missing adults believed to be at risk because of age, medical conditions or cognitive impairment.
